What these pages do and do not doThis site
Every page here is a file. There is no account to make, no form that sends anything anywhere, no comment box, no newsletter, no chat widget, no advertising and no measurement of any kind. Nothing is written into your browser: no cookie is set, nothing is kept in local storage, and closing the tab leaves nothing behind. That is why there is no cookie banner — there is nothing to ask you about.
The two calculators on the front sheet run entirely in the page. The numbers you type stay in the page, are never sent anywhere, and are gone when you leave. If you turn scripting off, the calculators stop working and every other word on every page still reads, because the arithmetic they do is printed beside them.
There is exactly one request to an outside server, and it is the web font: a stylesheet and two font files fetched from Google’s font servers so that the headings and the body text look the way they were designed. That request tells Google your IP address and which page asked for it, the same as any other site using the same fonts. Nothing else on these pages is hosted anywhere but this domain. The drawings are inline; there are no images to load at all.
What reaches the mailboxBy email
The only way to reach this office from this site is the address in the footer of every page, moves@ldwastehome.site. That is an ordinary mailbox. What arrives in it is whatever you choose to write, and it sits there until it is dealt with and then kept with the job it belongs to, or deleted if it did not turn into one.
To survey a removal the office needs an address, a date range and a way of reaching you. It does not need a date of birth, a bank detail, a photograph of the inside of your house or the name of your solicitor, and none of those are asked for by email. A quotation goes back by email, with the volume and access figures it was worked out from printed at the top of it.
The records a job makesOn paper
A removal or a clearance produces a small, fixed set of documents, and each one exists because something later depends on it.
Held, and for how long
- Survey sheet and quotation
- while the job is live, then with the file
- Inventory, signed at both ends
- with the job file
- Store list, in and out
- with the job file
- Condition notes and photographs
- with the job file
- Waste transfer note
- two years, statutory
- Hazardous consignment note
- three years, statutory
- Invoices and accounting records
- as the Companies Act requires
The two waste periods are set by law, not by preference, and are described on the clearance sheet.
Condition photographs are of furniture and of damage, taken on the day and kept with the sheet they belong to. They are not of rooms, not of people, and they are not used for anything but settling what a mark was and when it happened.
What this office does not holdNot kept
No card numbers are stored: a payment is made by bank transfer against an invoice, so there is nothing here to keep. No marketing list exists, because nothing on this site collects one and no address is added to anything by asking a question. Nothing is passed to a third party for advertising, profiling or any other purpose; the only time a name leaves this office is on a waste transfer note, where the law requires the transferor and transferee to be named to each other.
Keys are never kept. Where a clearance has to happen with nobody present, keys are collected and returned on the day, and the sheet records both movements.
Asking what is held, or correcting itRequests
Write to moves@ldwastehome.site with the address the job was at and roughly when, and the file can be found from that: the office does not index anything by name alone. You can ask what is in it, ask for a copy, or ask for something in it to be corrected.
Deletion is possible for anything the office holds by choice, which is most of it. It is not possible for the waste notes while their statutory periods are running, or for accounting records within the period the Companies Act sets, and saying otherwise would be an empty promise. When a period expires the document goes.
